FLARE JEANS

The fashion of “Flare Jeans” is coming back in style straight from the 1960s. The mid- 1960s was all about “Flare Jeans”. Celebrities like Mick Jagger, Twiggy, etc. made it even more popular. The first wave of “Flare Jeans” was not worn by the women but the navy sailors. U.S Navy back then lacked a standard way of dressing, hence lots of people adopted a pant style with wide leg and a bell shaped cuff at the bottom.

This style became popular really quickly. the reason for it’s speedy popularity might be its comfortness. Enough space was allowed at the bottom giving enough room. The pants from the ends can be folded without any hindrace. People used to wear them all the time.

The 1980s brought skinny jeans in trend and many thought “Flare” was gone for good but the 90s brought a comeback for “Flare Jeans”. By the 90s, baggier styled pants were in trend. Slim hip, upper thigh with small flare at the bottom were popluar. This was my favourite part about the Flare trends.

The decade after 90s slowed with the trends of “Flare”. But now, the trend is making a new comeback. We can again see the wide leg pants in the runway. Skinny jeans are getting replaced by bootcut/flare pants in a massive way. Today’s styles in “Flare” are inspiring from the styles of 70s version, which was high waist to slim hip and wider flare cut at the bottom.

Although both “Flare Jeans” and “Bell Bottom” are almost same the only difference is that “Bell Bottoms” are fit with bell shape from knee and goes downwards to create a wider shape but “Flare Jeans” are narrow from knee and wider around mid calf

“Flare” goes with all kinds of tops that’s the best part about it. A simple tee would look stylish with it. It can also go with Jackets and plain tops inside. But my favourite way of styling myself with Flare Jeans would be a plain long tee tucked in the jeans and pencil shoes to go with. The new trends of “Flare” are diffrent from the old ones but without a doubt they are not in anyway less classic than the old trends.
